The Galena Police Department is currently investigating several residential burglaries and instances of vandalism, which have occurred during the overnight hours in the past couple of weeks. Most of the reported incidents have been concentrated to the Mid-Southern quadrants of the city.
“In addition to enhancing our neighborhood patrols, officers have been conducting numerous interviews and following up on several leads. While we have developed potential suspects, our investigation is ongoing and until the suspects are apprehended, we ask residents to make sure their doors and windows are locked, along with making sure their vehicles are secured,” stated Galena Chief of Police Billy Charles.
“We also strongly encourage residents who see or hear anything suspicious to immediately contact us, so we can check it out,” continued Chief Charles.
Not all of the recently reported property crimes have involved theft, as some include vandalism, such as moving items from one yard to another, unscrewing porch lights, etc…
Chief Charles asks anyone who has property stolen or disturbed to notify his department immediately.
Anyone with information as to these recent crimes is asked to contact the Galena Police Department at 620-783-1900. All callers can remain anonymous.
