I graduated the Missouri Southern Law Enforcement Academy in December 1999. I have continued my education in this field to be the best I can be and to be able to provide great service to the community. I am certified in crime scene investigations, Glock Armorer and Field Training just to name a few. I enjoy serving the community of Galena and getting to know the citizens.
The Patrol Sergeant serves under the direction of the Lieutenant, distributes, enforces and trains all members of the patrol division on policies and procedures and ensures that proper protocol is followed at all times. Constantly monitoring the department for proper ethical behavior and taking appropriate action where necessary and is the direct, first line supervisor to all patrol officers.
Serve as Field Training Officer for new patrol officers. Supervise all other employees in the absence of their supervisor. Attempt to resolve problems which may arise during their shift and reporting those problems which they deem necessary for higher involvement. Monitors the progress of all calls, reassigning officers as necessary and ensure that all calls/cases are completed in a timely manner.
Ensure that evidence is thoroughly collected and analyzed in all cases. Monitors the department during shift for authorized operation of equipment, presence of unauthorized personnel in areas affecting operation and security, and the professional behavior of all employees
Ensures that ALL members of this department present themselves in a neat and orderly manner at all times when at the courthouse, any crime or accident scene, or any public place while representing this department. This includes the proper maintenance of uniforms and accessories, vehicles and personal hygiene/grooming
Shall patrol each section within the city at least once during each Shift. Performs regular patrol duties as defined herein. Remains knowledgeable and current on the affairs of the department, personnel and otherwise. Serves in the best interests of the Chief of Police, keeping in mind the importance of public perception
