Chief Dobkins started his Law Enforcement career when he was thirty years old with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer in the Cherokee County Jail. After a few months Dobkins became a Sergeant in Corrections. He worked the jail for a year and a half before being selected to become a Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office. He was born and raised in Cherokee County and loves living here. One of his favorite things about working in Law Enforcement is removing impaired drivers from the roadway. Dobkins has been through extensive training with the Kansas Highway Patrol, being recognized as a certified Drug Recognition Expert in October 2022. For the last few years hes has been a Sergeant for Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. Dobkins was promoted to Police Chief of the Galena Police Department on August 01, 2024.
