Solid Waste Pickup Update

The Public Works Department will be picking up Thursday and Fridays routes today Friday, February 4, 2022. Please be patient with us as we try and catch up under these weather conditions.

Inclement Weather Information

Due to Inclement weather the City Clerks Office and the Court Clerks Office will be closed today Thursday, February 3, 2022.

Trash Services have been postponed until futher notice.

Regular Meeting 01/17/2022 Canceled

Due to the lack of quorum, illnesses, and lack of President of Council the scheduled meeting for today, Monday, January 17th, 2022 is canceled. All agenda items will be addressed at the Regular Meeting on Monday, February 07, 2022.

Road Closure Notification

North Main Street from Clark Street to Front Street will be closed to make repairs beginning December 7th at 7am and ending on December 9th at 5pm. Please see attached photo for detour route.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS ASSESSMENT

On behalf of the Cherokee County Pathways to a Healthy Kansas Initiative, we are pleased to inform you about an upcoming opportunity in our community.

Beginning on Thursday, July 1st, 2021, all Cherokee County residents will be invited to take an online health & wellness assessment. The survey, which will be conducted in partnership with the University of Kansas Medical Center, is designed to collect information about our community and its greatest needs. Each household that completes a survey will receive a $10 Columbus Farmers Market Voucher! The Columbus Farmers Market meets every Thursday from 4:00-6:30 PM at 202 N. East Ave. Columbus, KS 66725.

An LMI survey, which can be used to qualify for CDBG grants, will be included with this survey. Each survey response will also be counted towards an LMI survey.
